What is MyEnergy exactly?
MyEnergy is a leading energy software company founded in 2007. Based in Boston, MA and privately held, MyEnergy has developed patent-pending technology that enables us to retrieve utility data on behalf of virtually any household in America. Utilizing that technology, we've built MyEnergy.com, the richest residential energy efficiency platform available today.
How are the averages for water, gas, and electricity usage calculated?
MyEnergy data averages are based on the utility usage of all MyEnergy members. Since the numbers are based on relatively small community, there can be some fluctuation in the averages. As more people join, we will have more data points and therefore more accurate averages.
Is my information safe with MyEnergy?
Our members' privacy is extremely important to us. Rest assured that no one from MyEnergy will ever access information about your bank account, credit card, or sensitive personal information. This information is available to your utility company only, and we only have access to the data regarding your utility consumption. By signing up you are allowing us to "read your meter" so that we can measure your energy use.
What does MyEnergy do with my energy information?
My energy collects your energy data for the sole purpose of improving energy efficiency. We use your information to help you better understand how much energy you are using, how you can decrease your energy spending, and what new techniques you can use to save even more.
